Len Barry - 1,2,3,

Len Barry first appeared on record in 1958 as the lead vocalist with The Boss-Tones, he was also a member of the singing group, The Dovells from 1957 to 1963, before going solo.

As a predominately blue-eyed soul singer, Len Barry recorded two hits in 1965 and 1966 for Decca Records: “1-2-3″, and “Like a Baby”, both of which made the Top Ten of the UK Singles Chart. Those songs also peaked at #2 and #27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart respectively. Both songs were part composed by Barry and Dave White, one of the original Juniors from Danny & the Juniors.

- When I was a wee boy there were only a few 45’s in the house, one of which was Len Barry’s 1, 2, 3 - I absolutely loved it and used to play the song all the time. Then, when I heard I first heard it being played at a mod do, it almost knocked me off my feet - bringing back thousands of childhood memories.

It’s not the coolest song and Len doesn’t have the coolest image but I fall in love with it all over again everytime I hear it... Stephen
